Hi, happy to see you again.
Busy weeks here, hosting workshops, painting and recording videos. But all mixed, finding time in between tasks. Kind of overwhelming time, needing some rest and finding time to.
I would love to share with you some works from this past month, I hope you enjoy it :)
Thank you so much for all of you that took the time to read this painting letter, who subscribed or shared it. I really appreciate it.
Camino de Clavier, Acrylic painting on paper
Starting with this landscape acrylic painting I did early on March during one of the workshops I host. It is postcard size.
How much I loved painting this landscape! It is very simple, yet I enjoyed every part of it. There is something so beautiful on landscapes, I don’t know if it’s the ambient or the simplicity. The abstract shapes. I only used one hard bristle brush and focused on big shapes. Wanting to place each shape where they belong. I painted that painting from the beautiful views I got that day.
Self portrait oil painting
Last week I painted a self portrait in oils on paper and I would love to share with you some pictures of the result. This is a painting that started as an Alla Prima sketch, just wanting to practice portrait painting. I used it my usual color palette and added some viridian green. I used a mix of hard and soft brushes on top of an acrylic wash layer of Raw Umber. And this time, I used Liquin as my medium.
Two sketches.
Two sketches: one made out of dried gouache and the other one with water soluble graphite and a brush. Both on water color paper. You can enjoy how I made these sketches on my youtube channel, as they are the subject of two of March’s youtube videos.
That’s all!
Kindly reminder that I am still working on updating my online shop but I am working on taking commissioned paintings. If you have a project, let me know so we can talk about it and send you the pricing/practical info.
Thank you so much! The rest of the month you can find me on Instagram, on my Youtube channel (perfect moment for subscribe if you haven’t yet :D) and join me on Patreon.
See you next time,
Elena
