Hello there,
Thank you for taking your time reading this monthly letter.
This month, drawing has been very present in my mind and in my practice. Drawing is always present in my work: in my mind, in the way I observe things around me, in the brush strokes.
Simplicity is a joy. This minimalist line work process helps me to see with more clarity and keep things simple. Plus, it is so much fun. Nothing wrong with a more elaborated drawing, not talking about that. I talk about making things simple, to exercise the view and to find peace. To have fun and clarity.
I like to do these drawings with a pencil but also with other material as oil pastel or Neocolor II. Drawing masses is as joyful as line work. Line work can take less time and it can be done as a nice exercise to trust your observational skills (or just to have fun, which is, indeed, a very nice reason to draw by itself)
EXHIBITED WORK
I’m pleased to share that my work ‘Después de la cena’ has been selected by the Hampstead Art Society to participate in their summer exhibition this summer in London from July 7th - 13th at Gallery 8 Duke Street, St James’s
WORKSHOPS
I host monthly workshops in person and online. If you are not based in Belgium and want to learn with me please check out my website or patreon page to know more about the monthly online option. The places are limited. If you have any questions I’ll be happy to answer them. This summer (in July) I will be hosting four different workshops both in oil and acrylics (sketchbook) in Belgium during two weeks. Two different locations: one in Liège and the other one at Les Avins please check the info at the links to register to the workshops if you are interested in.
That’s all! If you want to keep in touch you can follow my work on Instagram, Tik Tok, and subscribe to my youtube channel. I am currently taking painting commissions. If you are interested check out my online shop.
See you next month!
Elena.
